Founder Martha Moore has worked in the blacktop industry since 1990, starting in her family’s construction business and gaining expertise in laying asphalt and the importance of quality sealers. In 2010, she discovered asphalt emulsified sealers as a healthier alternative to coal-tar products, which led to the creation of SealTite.

About Martha Moore
Meet Our Owner
Martha Moore started her career in the construction industry at her father’s asphalt paving company before founding SealTite of Arklahoma, LLC in Mulberry, Arkansas. In 2012, she shifted the company’s focus to environmentally friendly sealcoating solutions, offering an alternative to coal tar-based products linked to health risks like cancer.
Under her leadership, SealTite has grown from a one-person operation to a team of seven with a 16-acre facility, and revenue has increased by 1,500%, reaching an average of $400,000 annually. Moore credits the SBA for its vital support in strategic planning, growth, and navigating the challenges of small business ownership.

Asphalt is full of oils and binders. Over time these oils and binders are evaporated by the sun, causing the asphalt to turn gray in color. Asphalt begins to lose aggregate and is rough and porous. Eventually, asphalt will begin to crack and potholes will begin to form. Asphalt sealcoating is a preventative measure to maximize the asphalt’s lifespan and maintain your investment.
As a general rule you should seal your driveway every 1 to 3 years. More specifically, if you can see the color of the individual stones that make up your asphalt surface, you know it’s time to reseal it.
Most driveways will have at least a few cracks, which must be repaired before you apply an asphalt sealer. It’s important to repair all cracks, even the smallest ones. If you don’t, they’ll only grow wider and longer over time.
An asphalt emulsion consists of three basic components: asphalt, water and an emulsifying agent. An asphalt emulsion is a stable dispersion of asphalt cement droplets in water, which can be pumped, stored and mixed with aggregates.
As the name suggests, coal-tar is derived from coal. Coal-tar is used primarily for the production of refined chemicals and coal-tar products, such as creosote and coal-tar pitch. Coal-tar is proven to cause cancer.
